“Do you cover my area?” is the question we get more than any other, because the Franschhoek Valley and the wider Winelands are spread out: from the village itself, down the R45 to Paarl, across the neck to Stellenbosch and north to Wellington. The short answer is yes. This page sets out exactly where we install, what tends to be different about each area, and why a local installer who drives these roads every week gets it right faster. Franschhoek village and the wine farms
Franschhoek itself: the village, the surrounding estates and the guest farms running up the valley, is our home turf, and it is where we do the highest volume of work. A lot of these properties are older, with stone or face-brick walls, thick gables and heritage considerations, so where the dish goes matters as much as whether it works. Owners and body corporates here are usually specific about a dish not being visible from the street, which means we spend more time on the site walk choosing a mounting position that keeps a clear line of sight to the satellite while staying discreet.
The practical consequences: longer cable runs than a standard suburban install, more use of colour-matched trunking, and occasionally a pole or non-penetrating roof mount instead of a wall bracket. It is also the area where we do the most hospitality work: guesthouses and restaurants needing multi-room or commercial setups rather than a single lounge point.
Groot Drakenstein, Pniel and the valley floor
Heading down towards Groot Drakenstein and Pniel, properties get larger and further apart. Mature oaks and poplars along the valley floor are the main obstacle here: a dish position that works in winter can lose signal by midsummer once the canopy fills in, which is a fault we are called out to more often than people expect.
Because plots are bigger, the runs from dish to house are longer and cable quality genuinely matters; this is classic territory for multi-point setups on farms and smallholdings, and for communal distribution where several cottages or staff units share one dish.
Paarl
Over the pass and along the valley, Paarl is one of the busiest parts of our coverage area: a mix of established suburban homes, security complexes and businesses. Complexes here often have rules about external fixtures and shared walls, so we check what the body corporate allows before quoting.
Work in Paarl skews towards full new installations and decoder setups in newer developments, plus a steady stream of repairs on ageing installations where the LNB or cable has finally given in to sun and weather.
Stellenbosch
Stellenbosch and its surrounds: the town, student housing, the estates and the wine farms, round out the western side of our coverage. The distinguishing feature here is the sheer number of shared and sub-divided properties: student houses, garden flats and complexes where several tenants want their own viewing without paying for separate subscriptions.
That makes Extra View and communal systems the most requested work in Stellenbosch, along with relocations at the start and end of the academic year.
Wellington
To the north, Wellington completes the picture. It is a slightly longer trip for us, so we try to group Wellington bookings together in the same run: worth knowing if you are flexible on timing, because it usually means we can get to you sooner. Home installations, relocations after a move and signal repairs make up most of the work here.
How scheduling works across the valley
We work the valley in loops rather than criss-crossing it, which is why the time we can offer you sometimes depends on where you are. Franschhoek and Groot Drakenstein bookings are the easiest to fit in at short notice; Paarl and Stellenbosch are typically same-day or next-day depending on the run; Wellington is often grouped. Same-day service is available in much of the area but is not guaranteed everywhere: when you call, we will tell you honestly what we can do rather than promise a slot we cannot make.

Why local knowledge matters here
The Winelands has its own quirks, and they show up in the fault log. Afternoon south-easters and sudden mountain storms put real mechanical stress on a dish, so alignment has to be done to peak signal rather than “just working”: a dish left at the edge of tolerance will hold a picture on a calm day and drop it in the first serious wind. Valley terrain and mature trees make line-of-sight trickier than on the open Cape Flats, older heritage properties need a careful hand, and farm properties often need longer runs and surge protection because of the power environment: see our guide to DStv after load-shedding.
